Imgix alternative
PicPerf is an Imgix alternative for teams that want prefix-based image optimization, flat unique-image pricing, and no bandwidth cap.

Best Imgix alternative if you only need fast images: PicPerf. Prefix existing URLs (or upload originals), convert to AVIF/WebP when that file is smaller, cache for a year, and pay per unique image with no bandwidth meter. Keep Imgix if you bought a deep transformation API, video, or a multi-source pipeline. This page is for leavers; the side-by-side is Imgix vs. PicPerf.
| PicPerf (alternative) | Imgix (what you are leaving) | |
|---|---|---|
| First step | Prefix the origin URL | Create a source tied to S3 or another origin |
| What you pay for | Unique source files; no bandwidth cap | Images + bandwidth + sources, by plan |
| Scope | Images only | Broad media processing platform |
| Transforms | Practical URL params + automatic displayed-size resize | Deep rendering API |
| Broken-image alerts / image sitemap | Included | Not the default reason people pick Imgix |
| Trial | 14 days, no card | Available; confirm current terms on Imgix |
Who Should Not Switch
Stay on Imgix if watermarks, complex crops, video, or a large existing
ixlib URL surface are the product. PicPerf will look like a downgrade
in that case. Switching because “image CDNs are interchangeable” is how you lose
transformations you actually use.
How the Move Usually Works
- Inventory templates and CMS fields that emit your Imgix hostname. Those still have an original path behind them (S3, the site origin, a CMS).
-
Point those originals at PicPerf:
https://picperf.io/your-origin/path/hero.jpg, or use the WordPress plugin / other integrations. - Confirm AVIF/WebP negotiation and cache headers, then remove the Imgix domain. Rollback is reversing the prefix. Originals never moved unless you chose hosting.
